Ledbury RFC hold the annual Jack Segust Memorial 7-a-side Competition which is better known as the Seabass 7s.
Jack was one of our young players who tragically died in an accident in the summer of 2012. We hold this 7’s event every year in Jacks memory. Jack loved playing rugby, both at Ledbury and at Portsmouth University where he studied engineering, and we aim to make this day enjoyable for all the clubs taking part.
Over the past few years we have had 16 teams compete to win the tournament leading to a place in the RFU National 7’s Framework. There is also a social competition to enter for those more keen on enjoying the day’s festivities and we are aim to expand the tournament in to a weekend incorporating women’s and junior sections.
Alongside the day of rugby, we also host a small beer festival with a range of lagers, ales and ciders, so feel free to come along and either enter or support when you see the dates for next year.
