Ledbury XV 35 Ledbury Farmers XV 26

Due to Dunlop’s departure from the league a social game was organised between a Ledbury XV and a Ledbury Farmers XV. Played in glorious sunshine on a perfect pitch, Ledbury dominated the first half with tries for Hallett, Welch, Sewell and Harris taking them to a commanding lead of 22-7. Referee Rob Seabourne ensured that Barbarians style rugby continued in the second half and Ledbury increased their lead with a drop goal and then a further try for Hallett. The Farmers put up a great fight and tries for Humphries and Whiting saw them back into the match. A final try by Hunter put Ledbury in a seemingly unassailable lead, but with replacements joining the battle, the Farmers redeemed themselves with a further try at the death to keep the score a respectable 35-26 at the final whistle. A crowd of 200 plus were treated to a great display of competitive running rugby, played in the best possible spirit.
